🐋 Anthropic raises $30B, reaches $380B valuation…

Anthropic has closed a $30 billion Series G funding round, bringing its valuation to $380 billion. The proceeds will be used to expand research, strengthen infrastructure, and scale enterprise solutions built around Claude.

Against this backdrop, the FTX story looks particularly ironic. In 2021, the exchange invested $500 million in Anthropic, acquiring roughly a 13.5% stake (later diluted to about 8%). After FTX’s bankruptcy, that stake was sold for approximately $1.3 billion.

At today’s $380 billion valuation, that ~8% would be worth around $30 billion.

Takeaway: sometimes, the difference between a loss and a life changing outcome is simply surviving long enough to see it materialize.
