I keep seeing wallets mention that they’re “SVM compatible” now, especially with Fogo’s mainnet landing and Backpack adding support this January. It basically means the chain speaks the same language as Solana’s execution environment, so the way your wallet signs transactions, and many of the apps and token standards people already use on Solana, can carry over with little or no rewriting. That sounds simple, but I’ve learned it doesn’t guarantee everything will feel identical: network settings, liquidity, and which programs are actually deployed still matter. I still double-check which network I’m on and whether a token is native or bridged. The reason it’s getting attention now is that more Solana-style networks are launching to chase low-latency trading, and people want one familiar wallet experience across them.
