đ·đș Russia Prepares to Launch First Personalized Cancer Vaccine Trials
đȘMoscow, Sept 2025, Russia has announced a breakthrough in oncology with the development of its first personalized mRNA-based cancer vaccine, which the government says will be provided to patients free of charge.
đȘThe vaccine, created using advanced AI to analyze each patientâs tumor, is designed to train the immune system to attack cancer cells. Each dose will be tailor-made for an individual and produced within a week, with the cost estimated at around 300,000 rubles ($2,800-3,800), fully covered by the state.
đȘOfficials confirmed that Phase I clinical trials are set to begin in September-October 2025, initially targeting melanoma patients at leading oncology centers in Moscow, including the Hertsen Research Institute and the N.N. Blokhin Cancer Center.
đȘExperts emphasize that while the project is a âbreakthrough moment,â the vaccine is not yet available for general use. Its effectiveness and safety will only be confirmed after human trials. If successful, it could pave the way for a new era of personalized cancer treatment in Russia and beyond.
