#boundless $ZKC
What is ZKC / Boundless?
âą Project name: Boundless
âą Token symbol: ZKC
âą Purpose: ZKC is the native token of the Boundless protocol, a universal zero-knowledge (ZK) proving layer that aims to bring verifiable compute (i.e. zero-knowledge proofs) to any blockchain. ïżŒ
âą Mechanism / architecture:
â âą Boundless uses a mechanism called Proof of Verifiable Work (PoVW), where âproversâ bid to compute ZK proofs for tasks, staking / locking ZKC as collateral. ïżŒ
â âą When a prover accepts a job, they must lock ZKC (often a multiple of the maximum fee). If they fail to deliver, part of that collateral can be penalized (e.g. burned) or redistributed. ïżŒ
â âą Requestors (i.e. applications or chains requesting proof) pay for computation/proof in the native token of the underlying chain (e.g. ETH, SOL, etc.). ZKC is used for securing the network, collateral, staking, and governance.
