Because apps don't operate just on transactions, Walrus (WAL) exists.
Tokens are simple to send. Maintaining an app is not. Real apps rely on data that must always be accessible, including files, photos, user content, and records. The application is merely feigning decentralization when that data is stored on a single server. Walrus is designed to address that. Instead than relying on a single provider, WAL drives a protocol on Sui that enables apps to store massive files across a decentralized network. Because the data is dispersed, the files remain intact even if a portion of the network fails. WAL uses rewards, governance, and staking to keep the system operating. It's a subtle concept, but most programs fail in the long run without it. @Walrus 🦭/acc $WAL
