EU-Mercosur Trade Agreement to Temporarily Take Effect Despite Opposition
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that the trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur member countries will temporarily take effect, despite plans for judicial review by opponents in the European Parliament. According to Jin10, Scholz stated during a speech in Frankfurt on Monday that the agreement will become effective immediately once the first South American country ratifies it.
