The French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies reported a rise in the domestic unemployment rate by 0.2 percentage points to 7.9% in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking a significant increase of 0.6 percentage points from the previous quarter. According to Jin10, the number of unemployed individuals grew by 56,000, bringing the total to 2.5 million. Despite this, the employment rate among the 15-64 age group remained stable at 69.4%. Analyzing by age group, the unemployment rate for young people aged 15-24 increased notably by 2.4 percentage points to 21.5%, while the rate for those aged 25-49 decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 6.9%.
