Developed by Jump Crypto, this is a new validation client written in C++. Until now, #solana relied almost exclusively on a single client developed by Solana Labs, but that is no longer the case.
The existence of two independent clients drastically reduces the risk of network outages. If a bug affects one, the other keeps the #network alive, and in some mainline network tests and controlled environments, Firedancer demonstrated the ability to process up to 1 million transactions per second.
