Plasma breaks risk throttles.

@Plasma Gasless USDT takes away the pause you used to get for free. No fee sting. No “maybe later.” People just send, again, and PlasmaBFT finality closes fast enough to make it feel invisible.

Then the fraud console starts lying.

Not maliciously. Just late.

Plasma is already done with the payment while the risk job is still building the session. Velocity comes in split across workers. Device fingerprint arrives after the first transfer. Geo signal arrives after the second. By the time the score shows up, the tx is already final.

Relayer submits. PlasmaBFT seals.

Risk score: after.

Flag: after.

Freeze click: after.

The transfer doesn’t wait.

It shows up as a false calm. Plasma dashboards look healthy. Finality is clean. Then the alert volume arrives like a delayed wave and now you’re reading timestamps in the wrong order: block time, then risk time, then the support ticket time. Same story, over and over.

The attacker doesn’t need finesse. They just need to be early and boring.

Burst sends. Same destination pattern. Same stablecoin rail. Gasless path keeps accepting until a relayer rule trips—rate limit, per-wallet cap, whatever you set in a hurry. The cutoff isn’t visible to the user. It just hits. Meanwhile the risk engine is still mid-batch, scoring transactions Plasma already finalized.

So ops does the ugly part.

Caps go down. Good users get clipped. Conversions dip immediately. Leave it open and you’re cleaning up later, with a list of “why wasn’t this stopped” messages nobody can answer cleanly.

You can’t hold Plasma finality.

You can only decide where the “no” lives.

Push risk before the relayer and your gasless UX inherits risk latency. One slow model call and checkout feels broken. Keep risk behind and you’re freezing accounts after the money moved, trying to make “controls” look like they happened in time.

Users don’t care about your clocks. They just see it work, then stop working.

And if the on-call toggles the relayer rule even a few seconds late, Plasma has already done what it does: settled the transfers. Now the freeze is retroactive in practice, and support is stuck explaining a decision that arrived after the fact.
