1. December 2025 Employment Report: Slow Hiring, Lower Unemployment

The U.S. economy added just 50,000 jobs in December 2025, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), marking one of the weakest monthly job gains since the pandemic. That figure was below the expectations of most economists and capped off what is now considered the weakest year of hiring outside of recession conditions since the early 2000s. �
