Walrus begins with a very human concern. I’m thinking about how often we trust systems without realizing how fragile they are. Files disappear platforms change direction and suddenly something important is gone. We’re seeing a growing awareness that data is not just technical information but memory work and identity. Walrus exists because of that realization. It is built to give data a place that does not rely on a single authority or a single point of failure.

At its core Walrus is a decentralized system designed specifically for large data. Instead of forcing heavy files into a blockchain that was never meant to carry them Walrus works alongside the Sui blockchain. The blockchain handles coordination rules incentives and accountability.
