Cardano founder, Charles Hoskinson, immediately reacted with pure sarcasm in his comments. He welcomed McAfee back, saying he had been missed, but called the new person behind the account a "crude imitation" of his former glory.

When an X user asked Hoskinson not to engage with this tweet anymore, Hoskinson declared that "John is being resurrected as a suspected AI cryptocurrency scam." He then continued his sarcastic critique, talking about Metaverses and recalling John McAfee's controversial biography: "He will develop a digital drug habit within a week and then start a Metaverse called New Belize before fleeing to Europe."
