The Ton currency or The Open Network is a blockchain network originally developed by the Telegram application team, aiming to provide decentralized and fast solutions for digital transactions. TON relies on a Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol and offers an integrated environment for smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and fast payments. One of TON's near-term goals is to enhance its use as a payment method within Telegram and expand its network to become a decentralized platform capable of hosting various services such as decentralized cloud storage, services, and NFT markets, with a focus on reducing fees and increasing transaction speed.
