The rise of Aerodrome has many reasons, among which the most critical is the team's ability to seize opportunities.

Whether it's a dex or the (3,3) model, neither was created by their team. However, the team is very flexible; initially, they didn't have much success with Velodrome on Optimism but accumulated some experience in basic dex and (3,3) models.

Velodrome itself is a fork of the Solidly project launched by Andre Cronje. Solidly combines Curve's vote-escrow model with OlympusDAO's (3,3) game theory concept, which is also a DEX. Later, this experience was applied to Aerodrome.

The Aerodrome team took full advantage of the opportunity presented by the recent launch of base and collaborated deeply with base to launch a DEX, becoming the most liquid DEX on BASE. This showcases their ability to seize opportunities, which is more about the capacity to capitalize rather than originality.

Once opportunities emerge, they push towards new heights. This time BASE has the backing of Coinbase, due to the concept of compliance and hot narratives in crypto, Aerodrome once again gained an opportunity for “momentum.”

When an original model is validated through practical experience, the proportion of operational capability gradually increases. Unless there are disruptive ideas and an early entry, for most entrepreneurs, how to operate and leverage momentum becomes important.
