BlockBeats News, December 21: Ethereum developers have recently successfully completed the Fusaka upgrade to lower node costs and have now begun full-scale planning for the "Glamsterdam" upgrade, set to launch in 2026.The name "Glamsterdam" is a combination of two simultaneous upgrades at Ethereum's two core layers. The Execution Layer (where transaction rules and smart contracts reside) will undergo the Amsterdam upgrade, while the Consensus Layer (involving coordinating validators and finalizing blocks) will undergo the Gloas upgrade. At the core of this upgrade is the proposer builder separation (ePBS) and a block-level Access Control List, which can reduce opportunities for manipulation and abuse related to Maximum Extractable Value (MEV).
