Amazon Web Services (AWS) has signed a two-year deal with Rio Tinto's Nuton bioleaching venture to procure copper produced using an environmentally friendly extraction method. The partnership leverages AWS's cloud technology to optimize Nuton's bioleaching operations, aiming to lower water use and carbon emissions. This collaboration supports AWS's sustainability goals to reach net zero carbon by 2040, enhancing supply chain resilience with cleaner materials.
