Gemini (the cryptocurrency exchange founded by the Winklevoss twins) has announced the closure of Nifty Gateway, its owned NFT marketplace platform.
Nifty Gateway, one of the earliest and most prominent NFT platforms (launched around 2020 after Gemini acquired it in 2019), will fully shut down on February 23, 2026. As of January 24, 2026, it entered withdrawal-only mode — meaning no new purchases, sales, listings, or trading are possible, and users have until the closure date to withdraw their remaining assets (NFTs, ETH, or USD balances).
The official announcement came via a blog post on Gemini's site and posts on X (formerly Twitter), with a shutdown notice now displayed on Nifty Gateway's homepage.
