The market has been highly volatile lately, and I've seen too many people getting liquidated. I couldn't help but chat with some newcomers in the plaza about a topic: 'How to set stop-loss?

Few new traders truly take risk management seriously, but those who've traded for several years will tell you that risk management comes first.

The reason is simple—you've been hit hard by a single move, possibly more than once.

In this market, you can't guarantee you'll be right every time. Without a stop-loss, if you're wrong just once, all your previous wins don't matter. If the on-chain value drops to zero, it's gone. But without a stop-loss in contracts, it can literally be fatal.

Setting a stop-loss is essentially about building a habit. Here's a tip for beginners: if you don't know how to set a stop-loss, try setting it at the same percentage as your take-profit initially, just to form the habit. For example, if you're long on a coin priced at $1 and aim to take profit at $1.2, set your stop-loss at $0.8. Once you've set your stop-loss target, never change it again.

Once you've built this habit and notice your success rate is decent, then gradually learn to set stop-losses based on support and resistance levels—exit when a long position breaks below a support zone, or when a short position breaks above a previous high. Step by step, you'll improve your risk-reward ratio on each trade!

Looking solely at the crypto market, Bitcoin may appear to be at a short-term low. But when combined with the U.S. stock market, I can't convince myself to buy Bitcoin at this point. If the U.S. stock market enters a cyclical correction, the crypto market simply won't withstand it. Over the years, the U.S. stock market has experienced a downturn every year, and the frequency of these events is increasing.

The market capitalization of the U.S. stock market has exceeded that of U.S. real estate twice in history, and in both cases, bear markets followed in the subsequent years.
