Developers, come here! @Polkadot Network Hub Codecamp series events are in full swing!
Hosted by @openguildwtf and @Web3foundation, the Polkadot Hub Codecamp has kicked off its journey in Asia!
Developers and university students, this is your excellent opportunity to dive deep into the Polkadot ecosystem, learn, build, and deliver your ideas!
The Polkadot Hub is leaving footprints in Asia:
🇻🇳 Vietnam Station & 🇨🇳 China Station & 🇮🇩 Indonesia Station & 🇲🇾 Malaysia Station have been successfully held, with a great response!
Next:
🇸🇬 Singapore Station: January 27-29 🇮🇳 India Station: February 1 & 7
Whether you want to understand the basics of Polkadot or implement a Web3 application on the Polkadot Hub, Codecamp has prepared rich learning resources and practical guidance for you.
Polkadot Hub will certainly provide liquidity for applications and design some incentive programs!\n\nHowever, we are well aware that incentives cannot bring real and lasting growth... We still need a self-sustaining economic construction plan!\n\nCurrently, around Polkadot Hub, we already have:\n\n• EVM: Basic programmable capability\n• Polkadot stablecoin: Basic economic unit\n• Polkadot People: Real participants in the economy\n• Programmable system: A mechanism that allows the economy to 'grow'\n\nAnd Parity is currently engaged in product development and execution!\n\nWhat kind of economy do you think Polkadot Hub will grow into?\n#Polkadot
Polkadot Weekly | DOT is now available on Robinhood and included in Grayscale's Q1 2026 "considering for investment" list!
Polkadot $DOT is now available on Robinhood! Millions of American users can now trade Polkadot directly on a familiar and compliant platform! Polkadot is accelerating its entry into the mainstream U.S. market! https://x.com/polkaworld_pro/status/2011094220749373519
DOT has been listed among the crypto assets that Grayscale is "considering for investment" in Q1 2026! And it has been included in the smart contract platform list, which means that Grayscale has also noticed the progress of the Polkadot Hub and the upcoming launch of the Revive contract platform on the Polkadot Hub! This also indicates that Polkadot's architecture, ecological direction, and long-term positioning are still considered "worthy of continued tracking"! https://x.com/polkaworld_pro/status/2010904564309078392
I believe that after watching this video, you will have a clearer understanding of what @Polkadot Network is doing in 2026.
The focus is no longer just on underlying technology development, but is beginning to seriously consider: how developers come in, how they stay, and how to continue building applications.
CodeCamp and Hackathon are designed as a continuous path, from introductory learning to real building, and then to whether the project can continue to grow. This is actually a long-term accumulation for ecological layout. #Polkadot
Someone privately messaged me asking @Polkadot Network hub what is the use of starting Solidity smart contracts?👀
Because he believes that this is not a significant advantage, as there are already 10,000 EVM chains!
Here I would like to share an answer from Alice_und_bob, hoping it can answer your questions!
The core advantage of Polkadot hub has never been EVM compatibility. The real killer capability lies in the scale of computational power, data availability, and system-level computing capabilities it provides.
The significance of EVM compatibility is more like an "entry point": it does not change Polkadot's capabilities themselves, but for the first time allows a large number of developers to directly invoke these capabilities through contracts.
These capabilities have always existed, but there has always been a lack of a sufficiently simple interaction layer. EVM compatibility is the first time these capabilities have become "usable"!
Return to Web3: Directional Choices for Polkadot's Second Era!
This excerpt is from a Space live broadcast organized by Max, the founder of HIC, at Magenta Labs! The content has been edited and organized by PolkaWorld, aiming to bring some community perspectives to the Chinese community! We are in a truly structural transformation period. When an old model can no longer work, the only rational choice is to change. Parity and the Web3 Foundation have clearly realized this: if we just repeat the past paths, the result will only be a repetition of mistakes. As the old saying goes — doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results is itself a form of madness.
Parity Product Engineering Lead @KarimJDDA built a more streamlined, fully decentralized @CoinbaseDev x402 payment protocol implementation.
No intermediaries No RPC providers No API Keys smol402 uses an embedded Polkadot light client
(smoldot) replaces trusted API services, allowing servers to directly sync with the network and independently verify payments.
Code address ↓ code.jedda.eu/smol402/index
PS: Traditional payment or on-chain protocol implementations usually rely on third-party services (intermediaries, RPC providers, API Keys), which means trust and security risks exist. smol402, by embedding smoldot (Polkadot light client), enables servers to communicate directly with the Polkadot network, allowing for payment verification without third-party trust.
This effectively achieves: reducing dependency, enhancing the system's censorship resistance and security. #paritytech
👉 Launch Solidity smart contracts 👉 Enable Elastic Scaling at the same time
Meanwhile, in this proposal, the inflation logic of Polkadot Hub will also support the Hard Pressure mechanism (Ref #1710), whether to enable it and the specific parameters will require another vote in OpenGov later~
This means:
Starting from January 27, Polkadot Hub will have: contract capabilities + ~2 seconds block time!
Polkadot Hub will officially enter the full launch phase! polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1828 #Polkadot
💥 Latest! Web3 Foundation Launches Kusama Vision Initiative, Kusama Enters the "Second Era"!
The Web3 Foundation officially launched the Kusama Vision (KV) program yesterday, marking Kusama's official entry into the "Second Era." The initiative aims to inject new experimental momentum and cultural vitality into Kusama, driving forward more forward-thinking and exploratory projects.
The Kusama Vision program has invited 15 curators and 6 advisors to jointly lead the vision and project selection, upholding Kusama's enduring ethos of boldness, avant-garde spirit, and experimental nature.
Currently, the KV program focuses on three core areas and is openly soliciting projects from the community:
- Zero-Knowledge Technologies: Making privacy the default, not a privilege - Proof-of-Personhood: Building truly "human-owned" identity systems, not platform-controlled identities - Art and Culture: And experiments in "Weird Internet" to sustain network vitality
The Web3 Foundation emphasizes this is a fully open call—no referrals or background checks required. Any team or individual with an idea can participate directly.
Interested developers can send their project ideas to kv@web3.foundation and join the public bounty group to engage in discussions early.
Technically, the KV program will launch a multi-asset bounty on the Kusama Asset Hub. Current progress shows that after successful community testing on Westend Asset Hub, the relevant pallets are expected to go live on Kusama Asset Hub within the coming week, and be officially activated via the next Kusama runtime upgrade by the end of this month (if testing proceeds smoothly).
Meanwhile, the governance team expects to submit a referendum on setting up curators within the next week.
For the complete vision of Kusama Vision, refer to referendum #498. Web3 Foundation stresses: The experiments have already begun.
If you're building projects that are still immature, slightly "weird," but hold exploratory value, now is the perfect time to join Kusama. #Kusama
This round is not a retail investor bull market, but a bull market where compliant US funds and the financial system are taking over.
Bitcoin has entered the mainstream, and thus it is no longer 'wild'.
The real buyers are ETFs, companies, and US capital—not due to 'faith', but based on financial arbitrage logic.
Veteran players, miners, and large holders are gradually and orderly selling off.
The next real opportunity lies not in price, but in whether people are actually using it. If in the future there are truly large-scale applications that use blockchain to make money, save money, and conduct business, then today's financialization will be the starting point for the next wave of genuine adoption!
In 2026, the cryptocurrency industry will enter the 'product era,' and Polkadot is also driving growth through 'products'!
接着昨天的文章,这篇是专访 Polkadot 北美 BD 团队的下篇! The cryptocurrency industry is entering a stage of structural transformation. Recently on X, I've seen analyses and shares from some major VCs, KOLs, and institutions, who generally believe that this cycle is not driven by retail sentiment, but gradually dominated by capital within the compliance system, institutional allocation, and financial infrastructure. Bitcoin has already completed its mainstreaming, and the marginal buyers in the market come from ETFs, corporations, and domestic US capital, whose trading behaviors are more based on financial mechanisms and arbitrage logic rather than faith narratives.
Interview with the Polkadot North America BD Team: How to Help Polkadot Grow?
Today, the news of DOT listing on Robinhood has gone viral, which is a great opportunity for DOT to enter the US market! https://x.com/RobinhoodApp/status/2011090937049727053
You may have already noticed that over the past two years, Polkadot has begun to try to enter the North American market, whether it is the promotion of ETFs or cooperation with custodians, etc. In addition, we also found that the Web3 Foundation collaborated with an ecosystem team, Magenta Labs, who are helping Polkadot with BD work in North America! In this interview, we invited Marco from Magenta Labs to discuss why Polkadot Hub may be the most important and realistic growth opportunity for Polkadot right now from the perspective of a frontline executor. Additionally, what exactly is the BD team doing to help Polkadot grow!
STRONG is a set of generative art pieces created by the artist Arkain, now officially released on the Chaotic platform.

vETH 3.0 represents a significant upgrade by Bifrost in the Ethereum staking space, and also signifies their effort to address a long-overlooked issue: the 'inter-chain fragmentation' of liquid staked ETH (LST).
Currently, most ETH LST solutions remain highly dependent on the Ethereum mainnet, resulting in high costs and restricting liquidity to a single network.
The core objective of vETH 3.0 is to enable ETH staking assets to natively exist across multiple major networks, without relying on complex wrapping or cross-chain bridging.
Through Bifrost's SLPx 2.0 protocol, users can directly mint vETH on multiple networks—eliminating the need to first mint on the mainnet and then perform cross-chain transfers. Currently supported networks include:
vETH adopts the ERC-4626 standard, enhancing its composability within the DeFi ecosystem and making it easier to integrate with existing protocols. With a unified protocol design, liquidity can efficiently flow between different networks, reducing friction costs for users switching between L2s and ecosystems.
On the validation side, vETH leverages SSV Network's DVT (Distributed Validator Technology). This is a mature solution already adopted by several major staking services, and its significance lies in reducing single-point-of-failure risks.
vETH inherits the base staking yield of ETH (currently around 3.5%), and by integrating with the Polkadot ecosystem, it introduces additional vDOT incentive mechanisms.
After vETH enters the Bifrost–Polkadot network, users can participate in a one-month liquidity mining campaign, creating a combined model of base ETH yield plus ecosystem incentives. Rewards are accumulated in real time, so earlier participation leads to a more complete cycle. Through cross-ecosystem collaboration, the yield structure becomes more diversified.
Next, Bifrost plans to support direct conversion from stETH / rETH to vETH, further reducing the cost of migrating between different LSTs. #Bifrost
