My RWA Journey: Insights and Reflections from Buzzwords to Truth
In recent months, I have been immersed in the world of RWA (Real World Assets), scrolling through various project teams' tweets almost every day: putting bonds on the blockchain, putting funds on the blockchain, putting carbon credits on the blockchain... from financial assets expanding to wine, artworks, rare sneakers, music copyright income, and even future ticket revenues and player contracts, there are people packaging them as RWA. This inevitably reminds me of the craze for Security Token Offerings (STO) and NFTs back in the day, when Jaylen's pink monkey NFT was stolen by a phishing website, causing quite a stir (image). After hearing and seeing so much, I have personally witnessed many subpar projects masquerading under the banner of RWA, which are essentially just Ponzi schemes. Introduction: Traditional trading institutions such as the London Stock Exchange and Börse Stuttgart have successively launched tokenized fund platforms. The crypto industry is developing at an astonishing speed and is quietly splitting the original market—traditional institutions strive to maintain a 'unified market,' while emerging forces continue to seize market share. Will stock tokenization reshape the financial world or exacerbate market fragmentation?
Against the backdrop of the RWA (Real World Assets) tokenization wave sweeping the global financial system, the stock market is undergoing unprecedented transformation. According to BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Fink, by 2030, the RWA market size will reach $30 trillion. Currently, the entire RWA market value in the crypto sector is only $24 billion—if his prediction is accurate, this means there is nearly 1000 times growth potential!
