🔸 What is the difference between exchange lending?
Exchange lending is mainly conducted within the exchange, this new feature is for on-chain borrowing
The underlying DeFi protocol is Venus Protocol, a very established protocol with a low likelihood of a crash

🔸 What are the benefits of on-chain borrowing?
There are mainly two benefits: lower interest rates and a larger supply
For example, borrowing BNB during TGE, during the initial period, the interest rate on OKX usually spikes to 30-40%, and the interest for borrowing BNB on Bybit also increases
In contrast, the interest rates on Venus are generally between 1% to 3%, which is lower in cost, and because of the larger supply, you don't have to worry about not being able to borrow

🔸 What are the risks?
Similar to borrowing funds through exchange collateral, the biggest risk is that price volatility can lead to liquidation, so you must provide enough collateral
Be cautious, if the health factor drops below 1, it will be liquidated
The health factor calculation formula: Collateral asset value * Collateral factor / Borrowed asset value
For example:
Collateral asset: Deposit value of $1,000 in USDT, collateral factor is 70%
Borrowed asset: Borrowed out value of $500 in BNB
Health factor: $1000 * 70% / $500 = 1.4

The reason is that there’s a coin I didn’t claim the airdrop for, and as a result, it was removed from Binance's recommendation list, basically going to zero

I didn’t claim the airdrop not because I forgot, nor because I wanted to be strategic, but simply because I was disgusted by the project’s rules, which indirectly caused me to basically stop claiming airdrops from testnets

The coin $Boost had its TGE on 2025/9/5, but a few days before the TGE, they suddenly changed the rules, forcing all airdrops to be locked for a month until October for claiming. When it went live, the coin price was basically rising, and at its peak, the airdrop was worth over 250U. A month isn’t too long, so everyone held back

But in October, they suddenly announced that the claiming would be moved to December, and by then, it was basically unbearable. A project with no integrity like this will not be believed no matter what they say afterwards

Finally, in December, it was finally possible to claim, but the coin price had already been slashed and slashed again, dropping over 99% from the listing price. What’s even more disgusting is that the airdrop was only worth 1U, but claiming it actually costs 5U 🤣🤣
