【Steak'n Shake acquires $10 million in Bitcoin, advancing corporate BTC treasury strategy】

American fast-food chain Steak 'n Shake announced that it has allocated $10 million in Bitcoin this week, officially incorporating BTC into its balance sheet. This move continues its strategy of accepting Bitcoin payments in stores across the U.S. for the past eight months. The company stated that this decision is part of what it calls a self-reinforcing loop: consumers using Bitcoin for payments drive sales growth, and the related revenue is continuously reinvested into the company's Bitcoin reserve (SBR), providing funds for operational investments such as raw material upgrades and store renovations, all while not increasing menu prices. Steak'n Shake will accept Bitcoin payments at all its U.S. stores via the Lightning Network starting May 2025, aiming to reduce credit card fees and attract a younger crypto user base. The company disclosed that same-store sales in the second quarter of 2025 increased by over 10% year-on-year, and when customers choose to pay with Bitcoin, payment processing fees can be reduced by about 50%. This purchase, equivalent to approximately 105 BTC (based on current prices), is Steak'n Shake's most direct Bitcoin treasury allocation to date. Although the scale is much smaller than that of larger public companies like Strategy, this case shows that Bitcoin accumulation at the corporate level is still expanding.
