The lending firm sold $188 million worth of bonds secured by bitcoin.
Jefferies Financial Group served as the structuring agent and bookrunner for the bond deal.
Ledn has sold $188 million in securitized bonds backed by bitcoin, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
The deal comprises two bonds, including an investment-grade portion that was priced at a spread of 335 basis points over the benchmark rate," Bloomberg said, citing anonymous sources.
Ledn, which allows users to borrow against their bitcoin rather than sell it, has originated billions of dollars in loans since its founding. In November, stablecoin giant Tether invested in Ledn, seemingly as demand for bitcoin-backed credit accelerates across retail and institutional markets.
The new bonds are secured by a pledge of 4,078.87 bitcoin with a fair market value of approximately $356.9 million, according to S&P Global. The rating agency gave the majority of the bonds the less-than-stellar rating of BBB-, according to a Feb. 9 report.
Bitcoin, trading at $66,329.34 as of 4:54 p.m. ET, is down nearly 30% over the past month, according to The Block price page

Last December, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office discovered that they had lost the bitcoin seized from a raid on a gambling platform. An internal investigation revealed that the bitcoin was hacked in August after investigators mistakenly accessed a phishing website and entered recovery seed phrases.
On Tuesday, the hacker returned 320.8 BTC to the wallet held by authorities, local news outlet Digital Asset reported. Prosecutors said they had blocked centralized exchange transactions involving the hacker's wallet, making it difficult to liquidate the bitcoin. The hacker’s identity remains unknown.
Prosecutors have since moved the returned bitcoin to a local exchange for safekeeping and will continue to track down the hacker's identity, the report said.
Meanwhile, the incident has prompted a nationwide review of investigative agencies' management of seized digital assets. Last week, the investigation revealed that the Seoul Gangnam Police Station has also lost track of 22 BTC stored in a cold wallet since 2021.
The Gyeonggi Bukbu Provincial Police Agency confirmed with The Block that it has launched an internal probe to determine the exact circumstances of the leak and whether there was any internal involvement.

Franklin Templeton has emerged as the premier traditional heavyweight in the XRP race.
Franklin Templeton has released the first quarterly report (Form 10-Q) for its Franklin XRP ETF (XRPZ).
According to the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the fund held over 118 million XRP tokens as of the end of 2025.
Franklin Templeton, managing over $1.6 trillion in assets, has proven to be the most "degen" of the traditional giants.
Under CEO Jenny Johnson, the firm has actively experimented with node operation, tokenized money market funds on Polygon and Stellar, and now, a pioneering role in XRP.
According to the data provided by SoSoValue, the market has entered a period of stagnation regarding new capital inflows, despite healthy trading volumes and positive price action across the underlying asset.
The sector currently holds $1.06 billion in total net assets. This represents approximately 1.17% of the total XRP market capitalization.
The daily total net inflow across all five major issuers flatlined at $0.00. This pause comes on the heels of a volatile two-week period.
Canary Capital (XRPC) maintains the top spot in total net assets with $283.33 million, holding a narrow lead over Bitwise’s $272.84 million. Interestingly, this dominance comes despite Canary carrying the highest listed fee at 0.50%.
In contrast, Franklin Templeton (XRPZ) is aggressively positioning itself as the low-cost leader with a 0.19% fee. Franklin currently sits in third place with $243.60 million in assets.
The market is still recovering from a shock to the system in late January, and this applies to XRP ETF flows as well.

Tomasz Stańczak, co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, will step down at the end of February 2026, concluding a one-year term that overlapped with one of the foundation’s most debated periods. Leadership will transition to Bastian Aue, alongside Hsiao-Wei Wang.
His mandate focused on operational reform, clearer treasury structure and stronger institutional positioning as Ethereum confronted competitive pressure from faster-moving networks
Stańczak joined in March 2025 amid governance criticism, compensation disputes and conflict-of-interest fallout after senior researchers disclosed paid advisory roles tied to external protocols. The foundation also faced accusations of opaque ETH sales, used to fund operations, with critics questioning treasury transparency and centralized influence within a small decision circle.
The departure appears preplanned. Stańczak stated that core restructuring objectives set in early 2025 — faster decision cycles, clearer roadmaps, compensation policies and institutional engagement — are either completed or structurally embedded. Remaining through 2026, he suggested, would amount to stewardship rather than execution.
He is pivoting back to hands-on technical work. After leaving his CEO role at Nethermind to join the foundation, he now intends to focus on protocol development, AI-integrated governance and agentic systems interacting with Ethereum. The transition reflects his builder profile more than a career administrator and follows the foundation’s formal separation of operational management from board-level oversight in 2025.
In his note, Stańczak described Ethereum as a coordination layer for finance, tokenized assets and automated AI agents, citing rising stablecoin and real-world asset activity. Institutional preference for Ethereum (ETH), he argued, rests on decentralization, credible neutrality and uninterrupted uptime since launch.
As Stańczak steps down, the foundation is preparing a merged LEAN Ethereum and core development roadmap for 2026, alongside a defined post-quantum security track and expanded rollup coordination.
