Ripple is really pushing to make crypto like their XRP token a normal way to donate to charities especially for good causes. They have been teaming up with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity GOSH Charity in the UK since 2023. This is a charity that supports a famous childrens hospital helping seriously ill kids with things like cancer treatment new facilities research and family support.
Ripple started by promising £100000 to help build a new Childrens Cancer Centre there. Then last year 2025 they became the very first organization to donate crypto directly to the charity over £60000 worth of XRP.
To make it easy for the charity which is not set up to hold crypto they worked with a company called Zodia Markets. It quickly turns the donated XRP into regular British pounds so the hospital can use the money right away without hassle.
Ripple has also sponsored big fundraising events like the Love GOSH gala twice in 2024 and 2025 which helped raise almost £2 million total. Their employees have run marathons done bike rides and volunteered at things like the British Grand Prix adding another £25000 plus.
This is not just one story it is part of a bigger trend. Crypto donations to charities worldwide went over $1 billion in 2024 which is a huge jump. Now about 70 percent of the top 100 charities like in Forbes lists accept digital assets up 25 percent from before. The average crypto gift was around $11000.
Ripple is highlighting this partnership now in February 2026 to show how fast and transparent crypto can make giving especially for global donors and how it is helping fund important pediatric care for kids who really need it. It is cool to see blockchain being used for real world good like this.
