⚠ Quantum Threat to $BTC ? 6.89M Coins Could Be at Risk
A new warning is shaking the long-term Bitcoin narrative. CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju says roughly 6.89 million $BTC could be vulnerable to future quantum attacks - including about 1 million coins believed to belong to Satoshi.
💡 The issue centers on old address types. Around 1.91M $BTC sit in P2PK addresses where public keys are permanently exposed. Another 4.98M BTC may have revealed their keys through past transactions. Once visible on-chain, that exposure doesn’t disappear.
That includes 3.4M BTC dormant for over a decade - hundreds of billions of dollars sitting untouched.
