CryptoQuant warns about quantum computing threat
Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, warned that the development of quantum computers could expose up to 6.89 million $BTC by enabling private key recovery from public keys.
As a result, the Bitcoin network might need a major upgrade, potentially freezing around 1 million BTC linked to Satoshi Nakamoto and millions of coins on legacy addresses.
Such measures, however, conflict with Bitcoin’s ideology and could lead to serious network splits.
