USA: Supreme Court overturns Trump's tariffs
The US Supreme Court struck down most of the tariffs, including the so-called "reciprocal" tariffs, imposed by Donald Trump under a 1977 Emergency Economic Powers Act on Friday,
February 20. By a 6-3 vote, the highest court in the United States ruled that the president lacked the authority to impose these tariffs, as this power rests with Congress.
This decision could expose the federal government to refunds exceeding $175 billion, according to expert estimates reported by several US media outlets.
