Everyone was celebrating TPS.
But users were still waiting.
That disconnect is what led us to modify Firedancer for Fogo Core. Blocks at 400ms sound fast. In practice, meaningful confirmation often stretches past a second once you factor in propagation, vote collection, and depth heuristics. For traders, liquidators, and real-time apps, that gap is where slippage and failed execution live.
So we focused on something quieter - convergence speed.
We tuned stake-aware propagation so the validators that matter most see blocks first. We exposed real-time stake lock thresholds instead of relying on blunt “wait N blocks” rules. And we optimized around confirmation variance, not just peak throughput.
The result is sub-second economic confirmation for the majority of transactions. Not marketing finality. Practical certainty.
Throughput measures how much you can process.
Confirmation measures how quickly the network agrees.
That difference is the product. @Fogo Official $FOGO #fogo
