BREAKING đšđł The monopoly is ending
China is moving to fully remove the United States from its semiconductor supply chains.
According to Reuters, China has successfully developed a prototype extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machine in Shenzhen â a critical tool required to manufacture the worldâs most advanced chips.
Until now, ASML has been the only company in the world capable of producing EUV machines. Each unit costs roughly $250 million and is essential for making cutting-edge chips designed by Nvidia and AMD, and produced by TSMC, Intel, and Samsung.
This breakthrough is the result of a six-year, state-backed semiconductor independence program, often described as Chinaâs version of the Manhattan Project.
While the prototype can already generate EUV light and is undergoing testing, it has not yet produced functional chips. Timelines mentioned by sources point to 2028â2030 for practical deployment.
Reports say former ASML engineers helped reverse-engineer parts of the system, with Huawei coordinating a broad network of domestic labs and suppliers.
> âThe goal is for China to eventually manufacture advanced chips using machines that are entirely made in China,â a source said.
