đșđžđ»đȘ PRESIDENT TRUMP SAYS THE US IS "TAKING BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF OIL" FROM VENEZUELA.
"IT COULD BE TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS."
President #TRUMP appears to mean by the claim that the U.S. is âtaking billions and billions of dollars worth of oilâ from #venezuela and that it âcould be trillions of dollarsâ:
In early 2026 the U.S. military captured Venezuelan President NicolĂĄs Maduro and has since taken control of parts of Venezuelaâs oil sector.
#venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world, and the Trump administration has said it will seize and sell Venezuelan crude oil â including oil held in storage and tankers under a U.S. blockade â on the global market, with proceeds controlled by the U.S. government.
When #Trump talks about âbillions and billions,â heâs referring to the estimated market value of specific oil barrels (30â50 million barrels worth a few billion dollars).
The idea of âtrillionsâ seems to be projecting future value if Venezuelaâs massive overall reserves â hundreds of billions of barrels â could ever be developed and sold under U.S. control.
However, these claims are widely viewed as politically charged, and thereâs no legal basis under international law for the U.S. to claim ownership of #VenezuelanOil simply through military action.
