Ancient Bitcoin Whale Sells 500 BTC After 12 Years
According to BlockBeats On-chain Detection, on January 18, a Bitcoin whale who accumulated 5,000 BTC 12 years ago has sold 500 BTC nine hours ago, valued at $47.77 million. The whale initially acquired the Bitcoin in November 2013 at an average price of $332 per BTC and began selling after November 2024. So far, 2,500 BTC have been transferred to a centralized exchange (CEX) at an average price of $104,632, realizing a profit of $260 million. The whale still holds 2,500 BTC, valued at $237 million.
