For most of the internet, data survives only by permission. A server stays online, a company keeps the lights on, a policy remains unchanged. Walrus quietly steps away from that fragile arrangement. It treats data as something that can stand on its own, broken into pieces, shared across many hands, yet never fully owned by any one of them. Availability comes from structure, not promises. Even when parts fail, the whole can return. Applications may fade, operators may change, but the data remains. Not as an act of defiance, but as careful design. Walrus lets information exist calmly, persistently, without asking to be allowed.
