I’ve noticed that many systems depend heavily on excitement. As long as incentives are attractive, everything looks stable. But incentives always change. When rewards feel smaller or attention shifts, behavior follows. That’s where things usually weaken. Walrus feels like it was designed with that moment in mind. Instead of assuming constant motivation, it seems to account for fatigue and indifference. I find that honest. Storage shouldn’t rely on enthusiasm to stay reliable. It should assume people will eventually lose interest. Designing around that reality feels more responsible than pretending it won’t happen. When incentives remain meaningful even after the excitement fades, reliability stops being a hope and starts becoming a property.
