The Image of the Future and the Fear of Making Mistakes…
The question, “Who do I want to become?”, often doesn’t sound inspiring it feels anxiety inducing. Because behind it lies another question: What if I choose wrong, fall behind, or ruin my life?
The future is frightening not only because it’s unknown, but also because of the responsibility that comes with making choices. Especially if, in the past, mistakes were punished, shamed, or dismissed. Then any decision feels final and dangerous.
Because of this, people get stuck in pause. They overthink, analyze, and delay action as if life should first provide a guarantee that the choice will be correct. But no such guarantee exists.
Your image of yourself in the future doesn’t emerge from a perfect plan, but from experience from small steps, trials, disappointments, and adjustments.
The question isn’t who you will become forever, but what you are drawn to right now, if fear is removed.
