🚨 This Could Reprice Every Ethereum L2 Token
Ethereum no longer needs Layer-2s the way it used to. Vitalik just made it clear: the old story around L2s is breaking—and it has big implications for $ETH, L2 blockchains, and L2 token valuations.
The Old Story:
Ethereum needed to scale.
L2s acted as extensions of Ethereum.
Ethereum stayed secure, L2s handled volume, and everything felt like Ethereum.
This story helped justify many L2 tokens with high valuations. But now, two things have changed:
1️⃣ Ethereum Itself Is Scaling Again
Fees are already low.
Gas limits are increasing, with more scaling planned in 2026.
Ethereum no longer depends on L2s for congestion relief.
2️⃣ Many L2s Aren’t Fully Ethereum-Secure
Vitalik highlighted that many L2s still rely on.
