According to RTHK, the Japanese yen has depreciated for four consecutive days as Japan prepares for its upcoming election. The U.S. dollar approached the 157 yen mark, reaching a two-week high at 156.94 yen.

Commodity currencies softened, with the Australian dollar slightly below the 0.7 level against the U.S. dollar, declining by approximately 0.4% in New York's late trading session. The New Zealand dollar was reported at 0.6 against the U.S. dollar, falling over 0.7%. The U.S. dollar rose about 0.2% against the Canadian dollar, remaining above 1.366.

The British pound fell 0.3% against the U.S. dollar, hovering around 1.365. Meanwhile, the euro held steady against the U.S. dollar at the 1.18 level.
