💰 BlackRock and Coinbase to Receive 18% of $ETH ETF Staking Revenue…

BlackRock has filed an amended application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a spot Ethereum ETF incorporating staking. Under the proposed structure, 18% of gross staking rewards would be retained by the fund and Coinbase, while 82% would be distributed to investors.

In addition, the sponsor fee is expected to range between 0.12% and 0.25% annually.

🪙 According to the filing, between 70% and 95% of the fund’s ETH holdings would be allocated to staking. Coinbase would act as both custodian and execution agent. Meanwhile, Nasdaq has already submitted a listing application for the product.

From a structural standpoint, this ETF would offer institutional investors regulated access to Ethereum staking yield without direct validator management. However, critics point to the layered fee structure (staking split + sponsor fee) and potential validator centralization risks, given the concentration of staked ETH under a limited number of custodial operators.
