Joint maneuvers under the banner “Maritime Security Belt 2026” are set to begin tomorrow, according to Iranian news agencies Mehr and Fararu, citing Hassan Magsudlu of the Iranian Navy.
The exercises will take place in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil exports from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, and the UAE.
Meanwhile, the United States is reinforcing its presence in the region: in the past 24 hours, dozens of F-35, F-22, and F-16 fighter jets have been deployed to the Persian Gulf area.
