I'll be real I almost didn't look into Fogo. Another L1, another "we're faster" story. But then someone I trust said he moved his Solana bot over without changing code. Like... zero changes. Same SVM. Just worked.
That's when I started paying attention. Because every other new chain asks you to learn their special language, their custom VM, their whole new way of thinking. Six months later their dev page is empty because nobody wanted to start over.
Fogo just said... what if you didn't have to?
Tried it on Ambient. Few trades. And look I've used Solana enough to know what congestion feels like.
That thing where your trade's stuck behind 50,000 memecoin txs. On Fogo that doesn't happen. Same VM, different network. Your blocks aren't fighting with random launches for space.
40ms blocks sound like marketing until you actually sit there and feel the difference. I'm not saying Fogo's proven yet. It's early. But the approach of "take what already works, run it cleaner" makes more sense to me than chains trying to reinvent everything from zero.
