Do Kwon has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud and wire fraud in a Manhattan federal court. He also acknowledged his role in the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, which resulted in about $40 billion in investment evaporating in 2022. The 33-year-old South Korean entrepreneur is a co-founder of Terraform Labs and created the stablecoin TerraUSD along with the Luna token before they collapsed.
Kwon did not plead guilty to the nine-count indictment in January before pleading guilty before Federal Judge Paul Engelmayer. He was charged with securities fraud, wire fraud, commodities fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering for his role in running the Terra ecosystem.
