In 2022, the cryptocurrency craze swept across the internet, and many people around me shared profit screenshots. I couldn't help but follow the trend and get involved. After comparing several exchanges, I chose FTX, which claimed to be the 'second largest in the world,' thinking that a big platform must be reliable. Initially, I made a small profit, which made me bolder, and I invested all my savings, even dreaming of doubling my wealth through leverage. But fate struck unexpectedly; in November, CoinDesk exposed its affiliated company Alameda's balance sheet manipulation, leading to a collapse of the FTT token and triggering a bank run, with withdrawals exceeding 6 billion USD within 72 hours. By the time I realized I wanted to withdraw, the platform had already suspended withdrawals, and Binance's abandonment of the acquisition news nearly caused FTT to plummet to zero. In the end, FTX filed for bankruptcy, and the funds I invested became just the tip of the iceberg of an 8 billion USD customer fund shortfall, leaving me with no recourse and forced to accept my loss.
