What $FOGO Actually Is
@Fogo Official is not a Solana fork. It is a Layer-1 built from scratch for SVM compatibility.
The core focus is latency reduction not maximizing raw throughput. While many SVM-based L2s settle externally, Fogo settles itself at the base layer.
PoH has been removed. Transaction ordering is BFT-based. There is no verifiable delay function finality is designed to be fast and deterministic.
Tower BFT remains, with stricter optimistic confirmations. Slashing is implemented for equivocation. Leadership is stake-weighted, with permissionless delegation and no central sequencer.
Validator requirements are practical consumer grade hardware is sufficient (no mandatory 1Gbps or RAID). Rent exists but is refundable. Syscalls are custom. Compute units have been repriced to reflect real execution costs.
Priority fees and local fee markets remain. Inflation parameters are still being finalized. Genesis is locked.
