I was reading about Treehouse ($TREE) and I think they are working on something very important that many people in DeFi don’t talk about. 🤫
The problem is that interest rates in DeFi are very unstable and there is no benchmark like in traditional finance. Treehouse is trying to fix that with DOR (Decentralized Offered Rates), which is basically a way to have trusted reference rates made by consensus.
What I find smart is how they link it with tAssets, for example tETH. You deposit ETH, you get tETH that generates yield by interest rate arbitrage, and at the same time you help secure the rate system. So it’s like solving two problems at once.
Tokenomics also look good to me: 20% for community rewards, 10% for airdrop, and vesting periods that are reasonable. The team tokens have 12-month cliff, which is a good sign of commitment.
My only worry is if they can execute. Building strong financial infrastructure is not easy, and they will have to compete with protocols that are already in the market. Also, they need good “Panelists” to provide accurate rate data or the system could fail.
But if they manage, this could open the door for many new DeFi products. I will follow this project for sure. 👀
