A common mistake is buying at resistance and selling at support. For instance, how many traders have you seen asking for help after opening a long position on Solana near the $210 resistance level? This reactive approach is a primary reason for many losses.
If you want to improve your success rate in futures trading, follow this straightforward strategy:
1. Analyze the Higher Timeframe: Always zoom out. Start your analysis on a higher timeframe like the 3-day, weekly chart or monthly to identify the true market structure and key levels.
2. Trade with the Trend, Not Against It: Once you've identified clear support and resistance zones:
· Look for long positions near proven support.
· Look for short positions near proven resistance.
3. Execute with Discipline: For every trade, employ strict risk management:
· Set a stop-loss at approximately -10% of your initial margin.
· Set a take-profit target at around +25% of your margin.
· Allow the trade sufficient room to develop without interference.
The Key to Making It Work: Combine this strategy with extreme patience, proper risk management (never risking more than you can afford to lose), and conservative leverage; I recommend no more than 4x.
