The cryptocurrency market has seen another historic moment as Binance Coin (BNB) crossed the $1,000 milestone for the first time, marking a new all-time high. This achievement underscores both renewed momentum in the broader market and increased attention toward new projects. Among these, Mutuum Finance (MUTM), an Ethereum-based decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, has drawn considerable interest, recently surpassing 720 million tokens sold in its presale.

BNB’s New All-Time High
BNB recently broke past the $1,000 mark for the first time, setting a new high of around $1,005. The rally has been fueled by rising institutional demand, the growth of real-world asset tokenization on BNB Chain, and clearer regulatory signals that eased investor concerns. Added to this are supportive macro conditions, such as the Fed’s rate cut, and increased on-chain activity, all combining to drive strong momentum for the token.

Mutuum Finance Presale Progress
While BNB is hitting record highs, Mutuum Finance has been building momentum of its own. The project has already raised more than $16 million in its presale, with participation from over 16,400 holders. With more than 720 million tokens sold across multiple phases, demand has remained steady, reflecting growing confidence in the project’s approach to lending and borrowing in DeFi.

At present, the MUTM token is priced at $0.035 in Phase 6 of the presale. The launch price has been set at $0.06, meaning there is still room for a potential near-2x increase from today’s level. From its starting point of $0.01 in Phase 1, the token has already surged by roughly 250%. By launch, the overall appreciation from that initial phase to $0.06 would represent a 500% increase, highlighting the pace of growth seen so far.

What Is Mutuum Finance?
Mutuum Finance is creating a decentralized lending and borrowing protocol designed to give users flexibility across two models: peer-to-contract (P2C) and peer-to-peer (P2P).In the P2C model, users supply assets into liquidity pools and receive interest-bearing mtTokens in return. These tokens accrue yield while remaining liquid and transferable, offering a balance between passive income and liquidity.
In the P2P model, borrowers and lenders connect directly. This setup allows lending and borrowing for tokens outside of the pools, such as memecoins like SHIB or DOGE, and gives users the ability to set their own terms, adding another layer of choice and flexibility.

Pepe is a meme coin created in 2023 by a team of unknown developers who were inspired by the popular Pepe the Frog. The coin runs on the Ethereum blockchain and is an ERC-20 token.
Pepe (PEPE) dropped 7.88% in the past 24 hours to $0.0000108, though the token is still up about 6-7% over the past week. Last week, it reached a high near $0.0000126 before entering a correction phase. The decline has been largely driven by profit-taking from large holders (“whales”) who began offloading positions after the rapid rally.
This week, Pepe Coin is likely to face moderate downside pressure as traders react to whale sell-offs and cooling meme coin momentum. The upcoming FOMC meeting (September 16–17) will be the key event: dovish signals could support a short-term bounce, while a hawkish tone may add further selling pressure. The generic listing standards offer a few pathways for asset managers to seek spot ETF approval. Steve Feinour, a partner at Stradley Ronon who has worked on some of the pending applications, said he expects most will turn to the provision allowing expedited approvals for crypto ETFs that have had futures contracts regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in existence for at least six monthsIn a press release, SEC Chair Paul Atkins described the approval by commission members as a way to foster innovation and reduce barriers to digital asset products.
The first ETFs likely to launch under the new rules are those tracking solana and XRP. Asset managers began filing these with the SEC more than a year ago, but regulators have yet to approve spot crypto ETFs other than those tracking bitcoin and ethereum. Even then, the debut of the bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 came only after years of struggle and a legal battleUntil now, the SEC has handled every spot crypto ETF filing on a case-by-case basis, and required two separate filings, one from the exchange that plans to list the product and one from the asset manager, to receive approval from different divisions. The new process will cut the maximum time from filing to launch to 75 days from 240 days, or longer still.
"This is a watershed moment in America’s regulatory approach to digital assets, overturning more than a decade of precedent since the first bitcoin ETF filing in 2013," said Teddy Fusaro, president of Bitwise Asset ManagemenUnder the administration of former President Joe Biden, the SEC had moved slowly to consider spot crypto ETFs. In contrast, the Trump administration aligned itself firmly with the crypto community, pledging to take a more favorable view of digital assets.
"The gates are open but there’s still a lot of work to be done," said Steve McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital, which has multiple products waiting for approval. Speaking on Monday, ahead of the SEC ruling, he said that even after the commission vote, "marketing plans, legal filings, work with service providers all have to be addressed, based on the new roadmapt.
